Ipsy Bag March 2014

I have only received 2 Ipsy bags but I think I'm in love! The only complaint I have is that this month, there was only 4 items in the bag. but considering that 2 of the products seem to be full sized, who can complain too much?!

First up, bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Get Ready. It's OK. Not really a color I would pick for myself and it doesn't have much staying power, in my opinion.

This is the NYX eye shadow Love in Rio. I love this! It's very pigmented and in colors that I would pick for myself. Ipsy really hit the nail on the head with this one! I would have picked this even for myself, although I would prefer it not to be so sparkly.

Next is the Pixi Beauty Flawless Beauty Primer. I have not used this since I will be almost out of my Almay Primer. Which happened to be a new bottle two weeks ago but then some kids decided to paint my bathroom with it. That was a lovely day. LOL. But, back to topic, I can't wait to use this.

Last but not least is the Chella Indigo Blue Eyeliner. Have I ever worn blue eyeliner, HECK NO! Will I ever wear blue eyeliner? Maybe. I usually stick to black or brown but I will try this out and see how it looks when I want to feel a little wild. Maybe even wear it to a Zumba After Dark!

Blah bag it came in. Not my favorite and will probably be giving it away.

So this was my March Ipsy bag. I do like the products they sent this month. And yet again, I think they beat Birchbox this month. Ipsy is definitely a keeper for this girl here!

SOOO Birchbox

So, Birchbox this month isn't bad but it isn't great either. On the plus side, I received 5 products plus the lifestyle extra, which is a first.

First up is from theBalm cosmetics How "bout Them Apples? in the color Pie.
This is for lips and cheeks and I love it. It's so creamy and smooth.

I also received the Vasanti BrightenUp! Enzymatic face rejuvenator. I have not used this as of yet since it exfoliates and I need all the color in my face that I can get at the moment.

Next is the Coola Tinted Matte SPF 30. I haven't used this yet either but since it's snowing outside at the moment, I think you would understand why I have not used this yet. Where I come from, you are outside long enough to walk from the house or store, to the car and vise versa. Once it warms up, I'm sure I'll love it.

Here is the Gena Pedi Cure Foot Treatment Creme. I haven't used this packet yet but I have used this before. I can't say for everyone but personally, it softened the rough spots on my feet only while using a foot buffer thing. What wouldn't soften your feet when being used with a buffer?!

This is StriVectin-AR Advanced Retinol Day Treatment with Broad Spectrum SPF 30. I have not tried this and am a little afraid to try it. If I happen to like it and would want more, this stuff is $99!! I'm not old enough to be paying crazy prices for miracle creams!

And last but not least, Ghirardelli Intense Dark Cherry Tango chocolate. I am saving this baby for a really bad freaking day. I love that I finally got a full box (in my opinion, anyways). And I love the idea of chocolate in a box. Now if only I could get some hair pieces that everyone used to get. My box would be complete!

Well this was the March Birchbox for me. Like I said, not bad but still not seeming to beat my Ipsy bag. I'll give them a few more months to prove themselves. That's all for now, Have a great evening!

I'm Back! And Freaking OUT!!!!!

So, I know I have been gone for a while but after I quit my job, I joined a gym, bought a tanning package, and have just been enjoying life again. So, I have a Birchbox and an Ipsy post to write about. And I have to recommend this book series. The Lesson Series by Jennifer Conners. A-MAZ-ING. Her first book was a freebie (we all know I love those) but I was completely hooked from then on. There are eight books in the series out and the ninth will be out on Amazon in just a few days. The way that I would describe the Lesson Series is classic romance with a modern twist. Literally. Ginnie, the main character, is coming back from a vacation in hell when she ends up in an accident. Then she's waking up, not in her own life, but as the heroine from every book that she read while on vacation. Sounds odd, right? Another blah book. WRONG! Instantly fell in love with this series. If you want to know just what I'm talking about, go here for A Lesson In Passion, the first book of the series, which is FREE. Check it out. See for your self. And let me know what you think!

Birchbox and Ipsy

Later this week, maybe even as far as the weekend, I will be posting my reviews on my second Birchbox and First ever Ipsy bag. I am not one for surprises, so as soon as I could, I checked to see what I would be receiving this month. I will, of course, give a detailed post on both of these once I get them and sample the products but just by looking, Ipsy got it in the bag this month. See you soon, followers! Bye Bye!

First Birchbox Ever

Last week I received my very first Birchbox and wrote a review. Somehow it disappeared so here it is again.

If you don't know what Birchbox is, it is a monthly subscription box of beauty products that is only $10. Some things are full sized products and some are samples. Still confused? Ever have a magazine Subscription? Know how you never know what is going to be written in each issue but you pay for it and receive it, so you read it, no complaints. Well, Birchbox is along the same lines but it is makeup, hair, and body products. They do have a little questionare that gets the basic information off of you. What your personality with makeup and other beauty products are, what skin tone are you, eye color, hair color, etc. Now that I've explained some of the basics, on to the review of my FIRST BIRCHBOX EVER.

So the first thing I noticed when I opened it was the biggest bottle in the box. The trial size of Serge Normant Dry Conditioner. I have been wanting to try this ever since I saw the sneek peek of the January box and am so excited that I got it. But with kids, it doesn't work that way. It has now become my DD's detangler since it was what I grabbed when I had misplaced her actual detangler. Stuff works like a charm. Love that it made her hair silky and she didn't even cry while we tried to conquer knot-adise city.
The next thing I came across was Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips. I had been using Chapstick multiple times a day because my lips were actually hurting from the cold. I used this once a day the day I received the box and the day after. I have not had to use anything on my lips since then. That is some awesome stuff right there!
This is 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Mascara. This stuff is as dark as Blackest Black and smells amazing. Seriously, this was on my eyes and I smelled it all day long at work. OVER BEER! Yes, I'm a bartender on top of being a mom. true glutten for punishment. I would love this IF it was actually extra lengthening like it says. I don't have eyelashes. I have stubs. If you have eyelashes that just need defined, this is for you.

I got this in Ride 'Em Cowgirl (see color picture below). This nail polish is supposed to be one color (the gold) indoors and the other (red) outdoors. Ever have 10 different bottles of nail polish open at one time? This little bottle has a crazy potent smell all on it's own that would rival 10 bottles! I haven't tried this yet due to no sun ever.

These teas are the lifestyle extra that they send in the box. I guess every month you get something different. I hope that is true because I am NOT a tea drinker. I will be taking these into work for someone else to use though, so not going to waste.
Well this was my first Birchbox. Pretty pleased so far and with the exception of the teas, I will use everything. Have a great day!

4am & Brave

Some places are warm and some places are cold. Up here in wonderful Pennsylvania, the temperatures are in the negatives. So cold that I have been called off of work until Thursday. Not complaining , that's for sure! At the moment I am extremely happy about that due to my DD deciding to wake up at 1am and wanting to watch a movie. But if I wasn't off, I wouldn't be laying here having quality time with my middle peanut.  Life takes over too much in this world. Whenever you have time to spare, even if it's at 4am, cherish it and relax with the ones you love!

Review on Fame Moon

Just finished the book Flame Moon by K.J. Jackson.
Amazon describes "
Skye Walters thought waking up on the side of a river with no memory was her biggest problem. She had no idea that the man who had saved her from drowning, the man she now depended on, Aiden, was more than mere mortal. A warrior of ancient. No memory, nowhere to go, Skye stays in the mountain town, only to discover she herself, has unexplained powers. Her life, her destiny, are soon out of her control, as are her feelings for Aiden. The deeper Skye gets sucked into Aiden's hidden world, the more the past, and who she really is, threatens her future, her love, her sanity."
This is what I love about BookBub. I would never have just bought this book from an author I have never read before. But because it was free and the description caught my attention, I blew through it in 2 days. It might even be why I had insomnia last night and didn't fall asleep until 8am this morning. This is a trilogy, so there are still two more books for me to read but so far, even with the book having a moderate amount of errors, the story has kept me captive. I will buy the second book, Triple Infinity, on Friday after I get off of work and as soon as I finish it, I will also review that one.
