I know, I know, I have been gone for sooo long. Life gets in the way with mommies, that's the original point of this blog!! But I have something that I want to bring to every one's attention today that will help everyone that has a little craftiness to them, so keep reading!!
Now, I know everyone has a busy, busy life now a days and most have no problem remembering what all you have to do. Then there are the ones like me, that can't remember what you have going on each day, even when some things are staring you in the face. Hello Chores!! So, I started using a free printable planner off of Pinterest and would literally document everything that had to be done, along with appointments (which is all I ever used to use a planner for), what needs cleaned during the week, and now my first grader's homework, which NO LIE, is more than I ever did in high school in one night. Slacker alert, I know, but seriously, I do not remember ever having tests every single Monday. But I was starting to get tired of the plain old printout and was looking for a planner that had more of an artsy factor. After a little searching, I came across an
Erin Condrin.
Now, these things are gorgeous and when you see the "planner world" and all the beautiful ways that you can decorate this thing, it really makes the crafter in me jump for joy. The price tag on one of these puppies though, not so much. An Erin Condrin will set you back at least $50 and that's just the base price, without customization or s&h. Me being the guilt-ridden mother that I am, I could not justify a purchase of that amount on a planner. After some more searching, I came across The Happy Planner from
Me and My Big Ideas.
Not only are these a little cheaper but comparable to the Eric Condrin, but they are also sold at
Michael's and
Hobby Lobby! Now, if your brain works like mine did, the word COUPON would have automatically popped into your head. Although this week, there is no coupon needed because all planners and accessories are 40% off. I bought the Follow your Heart planner pictured above this week and am already loving it. I did not get any of the accessories as of yet and I am glad that I didn't. There are a ton of free printable planner stickers available online for these planners and I recommend trying those or checking out the shops on Etsy if you want premade sets. I downloaded and printed out a freebie to try and the reasons I am glad that I didn't buy all the sticker books and things at Michael's, are
1. I have realized after my first week that I would like more of a functional layout, which to me means more white space than what I would have done if I had bought all those stickers.
2. Most of those stickers in the books that you can buy from MAMBI are uplifting motivational, whereas I am more of a snarky little bitch quotes kind of gal.
3. I LIKE CHARACTERS!! A lot of the stickers in the MAMBI books or even on Etsy are clip art kind of things and I prefer real pictures of the things I'm interested in. Jamie Fraser as a clip art character or a real picture of Sam Heughan. Hmm. I know which one I want and it is damn easy to make them yourself!
Now that I have told you all why I love this thing and where to get it, what are you still doing here?! Run! Go get one and organize your life in style! OH! Not only are the planners on sale but there is a 60% off Recollections washi and stickers coupon at Michael's too!
I will probably be doing a few more blogs on this, especially if you all want me to. Let me know in the comments if you want to see some of my layouts or stickers. I, of course, have gone all out and have been making different ones every couple days! Bye for now!!
